“Growing Up”

January 11, 2017 | Kids & Families

Puberty can be a challenging time for adolescents. Things such as physical changes can bring self-consciousness, and hormonal changes can trigger emotions. Understanding what is happening on a physical and emotional level can help ease the anxiety that may be associated with this stage of life.

“Growing Up” workshops are an opportunity for kids ages 9-12 and a parent or significant adult to learn more about the facts of puberty with fun and interactive activities that facilitate positive communication between children, adults and their community.

During the course of the workshop participants will:

  • Receive accurate information about puberty
  • Discuss physical, emotional and social changes of puberty
  • Learn how to communicate more comfortably and effectively in general, and about puberty specifically
  • Identify recommended puberty education resources
  • Have fun
