The Nutrition and Physical Activity Coalition in Gallatin County is working to find better and smarter ways to empower families and children to make healthy food and physical activity choices.
A recent Community Health Needs Assessment (CNHA) in Gallatin County shows:
- A decrease in children with a healthy weight between 2011 and 2014
- Low rates of children meeting recommended physical activity levels
- Children who live in households where the adults do not meet daily recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables have higher rates of having unhealthy weight
As part of this initiative, we are conducting a study of parents and children about their knowledge, incentives and barriers to making healthy choices.
The study will be conducted by an independent research firm, M+M Research, and all responses will be kept anonymous. There will be 2 focus groups and 30 individual interviews.
We’re looking for people to participate in the study, which is scheduled for November at Flying Horse Communication, 347 S. Ferguson, Ave., Bozeman, MT. A $100 incentive will be given to each participant at the completion of the study.
The discussion will be informal in a relaxed environment and all their responses will be kept anonymous.

If you are eligible, the research firm will contact you directly.
Thank you for your interest in providing feedback to help improve the health of the residents in Gallatin County.
