Cervical cancer is easy to prevent with regular screening and follow-up. Two screening tests can help prevent cervical cancer or find it early:

  • PAP TEST (or Pap smear) looks for cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated properly.
  • THE HPV TEST looks for the virus that can cause these cell changes. If you combine a Pap test with a HPV test (co-testing) and your results are normal your doctor may tell you that you can wait as long as five years before your next screening!
