Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are those diseases or infections that are spread through sexual contact, including intercourse, oral sex, and anal sex. Some STDs are also spread through sharing needles and some may be passed down to a baby from an infected mother.
Each STD has its own set of symptoms and treatments, and it is extremely important to get tested and treated to prevent further spreading of the disease and the harmful health affects that can occur if left untreated. There is also significant evidence proving that the presence of other STDs increases the likelihood of both transmitting and acquiring HIV.
