Public Water Supply
A Public Water Supply (PWS) is defined as water systems serving 15 or more connections or 25 or more persons daily for 60 or more days in a calendar year. The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) Public Water Supply Program is responsible for assuring that public health is maintained through a safe and adequate supply of drinking water. This function is achieved by technical review, licensing, certifications, compliance monitoring, training, and technical assistance.
